DOUBLE RANGE

As a wingboard learner, START2 has perfect balance when using the side fins that can be placed forward of the daggerboard. This brings the lateral pan forward, allowing you to stand in the same place when you wing as when you windsurf.

START2

DOUBLE RANGE – WING and WIND

The board tracks and tacks like no other wingboard learner, and you will wing with the utmost ease. If you are a wing teacher, you will love this board, and if you are new to the sport, you will accelerate your learning curve

START2 WINGSURF

As a wingboard learner, START2 has perfect balance when using the side fins that can be placed forward of the daggerboard. This brings the lateral pivot point forward, allowing you to stand in the same place when you wing as when
you windsurf.

The board tracks and tacks like no other wingboard learner, and you will wing with the utmost ease. If you are a wing teacher, you will love this board, and if you are new to the sport, you will accelerate your learning curve.

START2 WINDSURF

You tack quickly with the 22 cm Drake Shallow fin, which provides solid stability while moving the feet to the other side. Your gybes progress fast with the thinned-out tail and rounded f
ront rails.

The daggerboard sits further back than usual to make it easier to go upwind, avoiding getting backwinded. This makes even strong wind-upwind sailing great fun.

The coloured oval in the middle of the standing area guides you towards your entry-level
standing position.

*Side fins are not to be used for windsurfing.

RETRACTABLE DAGGERBOARD

Thanks to the new brass pivot design and revised side plates, the new Clipperbox system maintains better adjustment, whilst also being smoother to operate. The updated daggerboard with a soft handle is now easier to retract for planing, or to extend for upwind.

CARRY HANDLE AND CARRY STRAPS

The built-in carry handle ensures practical board transportation under your arm.

An additional strap is positioned at the tail if you wish to drag the board up from the water, and another is placed at the nose so two people can carry the board together over a longer distance.

SIDE FINS (ONLY FOR WING)

With the SAIL FIN installed easily you transform the START2 to the most efficient and comfortable Wing learning board, making sure of keeping the line you want without side drifting while you have more time to focus on how to use the Wing.

NO EVA OPTION

The START2 Rhino constructions comes to the No EVA version, our toughest and most time lasting board ever. Specially for schools and people who don’t want to bother with EVA gradually decomposition after years and use under the strong sunny days.

*Only the Size S No Pads is available with inserts for footstraps position.

FULL EVA DECK

The START2 boasts a large, soft EVA grip on the deck, ensuring comfort and safety. Enjoy a secure grip without worrying about cuts or rashes. The nose area, where the boom tends to drag, is free of EVA.

DRAKE SHALLOW FIN

The stiff and wide Drake Shallow 22cm fin is both practical and durable, providing powerful directional traction. Perfect for shallow water use often encountered during learning or progressing sessions.

LOOKING FOR A SAIL?

Enhance your beginner or progression board with Starboard SUP Windsurfing sails. Lightweight, powerful, and durable, these sails are an excellent choice for entry-level windsurfers, offering versatility and performance.

STARBOARD CLIPPER BOX SYSTEM

Our shaper and board designer Remi Vila shows how the new 2025 Clipper Box system works. Easy and safe! This is the best system for entry level windsurfing and it gets you sailing upwind with ease. Once you want to plane, just slide the fin into the box. No screws, no hassle, just fun!

RHINO TECHNOLOGY

AS TOUGH AS IT GETS

The START2 Wind-Wing surf boards were built in the Rhino construction with one mission in mind: to make them as durable as possible for schools and centres. The entire board is wrapped in a thick, tough thermoplastic polymer ABS skin (not to be confused with ASA), with a double wrap around the rails.

*Available sizes: S, M , L and  S, M, L No Pads

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.

For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.

The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.

More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave.
