THE AK PHAZER FOILBOARD

Carving oriented shape with a surf outline.
Convex nose area for soft touchdowns.
Hard release tail for early planing.

5’10” 6’2”

Available in the all-new Duratech construction, the Phazer 5’10” and 6’2” provide a stable platform for light wind winging or the heavier rider. The harder release edges, stepped rail, and flatter rocker get the Phazer planing early. The wide tail creates a stable platform when light wind gliding or sub-planing with the deep step in the tail reducing catching when pumping.

The Phazer Foilboard is a showcase of our obsession with versatility. We set out to create a single board range that caters to foilers who want to explore as many aspects of foil riding as possible, in a single product.

The fast rocker, high volume, and compact shapes are easy to use and high performance at the same time, while the optional footstraps and sandwich construction open up the aerial and high-speed potential

KEY FEATURES

Concave Deck

The concave deck makes it feel much more stable and comfortable when paddling. This allows you to push your chest forward to generate speed when paddling into the waves, while keeping the board stable. It also makes you feel more connected to the foil with the advantage of the extra volume on the rails for stability.

Bottom Shape

The rounded V on the nose helps prevent the nose from sticking on touch downs, instead recovering without losing too much speed. The mid-section runs into a single concave for maximum paddle speed. Larger models have a longer release edge optimizing the early planing at lower speed.

Kick Tail

The bottom kick tail allows the rider to tilt the board upwards, assisting to force the nose to lift and release from the water. It also reduces the tail touching the water when pumping and turning.

Narrow Nose

Faster to paddle, easier to push the nose into waves, and less chance of catching the nose through turns. The widest part of the outline is quite far forward for easy paddling, while the curve in the outline keeps the flow for mid-turn touch downs.

ROCKER CURVE

The slight nose kick prevents the board from pearling with enough curve to recover touch downs. The flat tail rocker maximizes paddle speed to help you get into waves early. It also ensures the foil angle is always 90 degrees when flying, helping to trim and maintain a balanced ride.

THICK PROFILE

Packing a surprising amount of float in such a short length reduces the swing weight, keeping the board easy to pump and turn. The volume is optimized for stability and getting you into waves as easily as possible for the relative size.

GORE AUTO VENT

GORE auto vents provide a waterproof and breathable solution, thanks to their proprietary GORE Membrane. This breathable membrane has a microporous structure that allows air and gases to pass through freely, so pressures are equalized, and moisture diffused before problems arise.

Duratech Construction

Durable composite shell with lightweight core. Wood sandwich standing area. Heavy duty foil connection.

Covering an ultra-lightweight fused EPS core, the durable composite shell optimizes durability while minimizing weight. The wood sandwich standing area creates additional strength in the standing area and works together with the T- Stringers on the bottom deck to enhance stiffness. The foil connection features a heavy duty high-density load plate, which carries the load of the foil and connects it to the top deck for a direct connection between the foil and the rider.

4’0” – 5’0”
Perfect for surf, kite & pump foiling.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced surf foilers.
All-around shape for kiting or advanced wing foiling.

The smaller sizes of the Phazer offer easy paddling and quick take offs in a compact shape. This range is the ideal choice for intermediate to advanced foil surfers, an all-around shape for kiting, or for the advanced wing foiler.

4’0” x 18.5” x 2.28” 25L
4’3” x 19.25” x 2.44” 30L
4’6” x 20.25” x 2.65” 36L
5’0” x 21.25” x 2.9” 46L

5’3” – 5’6”
Perfect for intermediate wing foiling.
Versatile maneuverability & ease of use.
Surf inspired high curve outline.

The Phazer 5’3” to 5’6” offer a versatile shape perfect for intermediate level wing foiling. The mid-length shape provides the perfect platform for early take offs and smooth touch downs, with the curved outline designed to engage the rail for more aggressive turns.

5’3” x 24” x 3.5” 65L
5’4” x 25” x 3.8” 78L
5’6” x 26” x 4.2” 90L

5’10” & 6’2”
Perfect for heavy weight & light wind wing riding.
Harder release edges & stepped rail for early planing.
Wide tail & deep step for stability & pumping.

The Phazer 5’10” and 6’2” provide a stable platform for light wind winging or the heavier rider. The harder release edges, stepped rail, and flatter rocker get the Phazer planing early. The wide tail creates a stable platform when light wind gliding or sub-planing with the deep step in the tail reducing catching when pumping.

5’10” x 28.5” x 4.4” 110L
6’2” x 30.25” x 5” 140L

Phazer Strap & Insert Positions

The Phazer foilboards feature reinforced footstrap inserts with a number of different forwards or backwards positions, with a 2.5cm (1”) spacing. This enables the rider to be further forwards or backwards on the board, relative to their preferred stance width and foil position.

The front strap has the option of being mounted centred, slightly offset, or with a double or single strap at a 45-degree angle. The rear strap can be mounted over the center line of the board, or offset to the left or right. This insert pattern allows for left or right foot forward riding off to one side of the deck or a single strap angled slightly over the center line.

The US Box foil mount on the bottom deck allows for quick and easy assembly and micro trim adjustment. These inserts are compatible with any standard 9 x 16.5cm foil plate system and are connected through to the deck of the board with high density inserts.

Kitting: The 4’0" – 5’0" ship standard with 2 x single Ether footstraps, while the 5’3? – 6’2" ship standard with 1 x single Ether footstrap and 1 x Ether V footstrap.

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.

For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.

The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.

More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave.
