AK NOMAD FOILBOARD

Lightwind wingboard & downwind crossover foilboard.Intuitive stability, control & maneuverability.Lightweight & durable Carbon construction.

6’6"(90L) 7’0”(36L) 5’0"(115L) 7'6"(135L)

The all-new Nomad foilboard is an intuitive and stable lightwind and downwind crossover board with effortless gliding capabilities. Perfect for catching long drawn out waves, downwinding, or getting up on the foil in the lightest wind with your wing.

With its optimized length and width, the Nomad features a parallel outline, volume distributed for flight, and a forward foil position that will allow you to keep the same stance as you paddle for take-off, and get up on the foil.

KEY FEATURES

FORWARD FOIL POSITION

The forward foil position creates a perfect balance when on foil, ensuring that the relatively long length is balanced front to back. This allows easy pumping, stability under foot, and maximum maneuverability.

CONCAVE DECK

The high volume oriented towards the nose area prevents the nose from bogging down as you drive through your front foot. The concave deck creates a stable platform by lowering the riders center of gravity.

PIN TAIL

The pin tail creates an extremely clean release and works in conjunction with the narrow overall width and narrow nose for infinite glide.

NARROW NOSE

The narrow nose slices through the water and works in conjunction with the narrow overall width and pin tail for infinite glide.

BOTTOM SHAPE

The rounded V on the nose helps prevent the nose from sticking on touch downs, instead recovering without losing too much speed. The mid-section runs into a single concave for maximum paddle speed. Larger models have a longer release edge optimizing the early planing at lower speed.

ACTIVE CARBON CONSTRUCTION

Full biaxial carbon top deck.
Wood sandwich standing areas.
Heavy-duty foil connection.

The Active Carbon construction creates an extremely strong and stiff standing area, covering an ultra-lightweight fused EPS core. The foil connection features a heavy duty high-density load plate, which carries the load of the foil and connects it to the top deck for a direct connection between the foil and the rider.

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.

For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.

The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.

More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave.
