AK NOMAD CARBON PLUS FOILBOARD

Lightwind wingboard & downwind crossover foilboard.Intuitive stability, control & maneuverability.Lightweight & durable Carbon Plus construction.

7’0”(95L) 7’6"(115L) 8'0"(135L)

The Nomad is an intuitive and stable lightwind and downwind crossover board with effortless gliding capabilities. Perfect for catching long drawn out waves, downwinding, or getting up on the foil in the lightest wind with your wing.

With its optimized length and width, the Nomad features a parallel outline, volume distributed for flight, and a forward foil position that will allow you to keep the same stance as you paddle for take-off, and get up on the foil.

* The Nomad Carbon Plus does not have strap inserts or carry handles.

KEY FEATURES

BOTTOM SHAPE

The bottom shape features a displacement optimized nose area for low speed glide, transitioning into a planing hull tail area with hard edges for smooth touch downs and immediate release. The intermediate rocker has been refined to enable immediate glide and efficient low speed take offs.

NARROW NOSE

The narrow nose slices through the water and works in conjunction with the narrow overall width and pin tail for infinite glide.

PIN TAIL

The pin tail creates an extremely clean release and works in conjunction with the narrow overall width and narrow nose for infinite glide.

FORWARD FOIL POSITION

The forward foil position creates a perfect balance when on foil, ensuring that the relatively long length is balanced front to back. This allows easy pumping, stability under foot, and maximum maneuverability.

CONCAVE DECK

The high volume oriented towards the nose area prevents the nose from bogging down as you drive through your front foot. The concave deck creates a stable platform by lowering the riders center of gravity.

CARBON PLUS CONSTRUCTION

Ultralight full Carbon Plus deck & bottom.
PVC sandwich construction & lightweight core.
Heavy-duty foil connection.

The Carbon Plus construction features a full carbon sandwich construction on both the top and the bottom of the board. This technology utilizes a lightweight glass layer around the lightweight core, fusing the high-density foam layer on the top and bottom of the board. This is then finished with a full carbon layer, top and bottom. Our biaxial carbon fiber has been optimized to ensure the best combination of responsiveness, strength, and weight reduction.

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.

For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.

The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.

More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave.
