HYPER 8 FOIL RACE - HYPER CHARGED FLIGHT
The Hyper’s legacy is undeniable; countless national, continental, and world titles over the years have established it as the definitive benchmark in foil racing.
The next generation Hyper 8 introduces design enhancements that notably elevate performance metrics that matter. A more open and narrower head design not only increases outright speeds but also ensures a smoother power transfer.
Flat entry profiles shift the deepest point further back, resulting in enhanced glide and a slippery in-flight sensation. This low-drag configuration is essential for maintaining stability across a wide range of winds; this is essential for optimal board trim. A rigid batten frame eliminates unnecessary movement when winds intensify and the rig powers up. Increased stability equals more speed.
The intuitive feel of the Hyper 8 adapts to a broader wind range, enhanced by the Xtended Range design. Keep pushing for longer, stay focused on the race, not your equipment. Don’t be fooled though, the Hyper 8 responds to input with decisive precision.

XL PERFORMANCE
Used on the MACH 8, the XL Cam maximizes leading edge stability by allowing increased cam pressure to be distributed over a wider surface area.
Rotation is improved by the increased the leverage of the longer cam.
Mast wear is reduced due to less friction from the 8 rollers.
DIRECT DRIVE TENSIONERS
The DDT 4 and DDT 5 tensioners directly connect the tube batten to the leech of the sail. This new design eliminates the heavy section of the tube that is needed for the standard batten tensioner. And being smaller, it has superior aerodynamics. It is used on all lower tension battens in the OVERDRIVE and the MACH 5.
OPTIONAL CLEW POSITIONS
POSITION 1:
This is the recommended setting and carries the adjustable outhaul fitting. It creates the perfect balance between a comfortable clew height and leech tension. This is the setting that Matteo Iachino will use for 99% of PWA slalom races.
POSITION 2:
This setting is lower and further in. It softens the feel of the sail and may be more comfortable for smaller, lighter riders looking for more control in higher winds.
