Introducing the NeilPryde Firefly - an all new design optimized for freestyle and surf. The Firefly combines the NP high lift concept (introduced on the original Fly to deliver both take off early AND light responsive handling) with a host of new features developed over a year of close collaboration with our Freestyle and Wave test team - significantly reduced wingspan for rotational maneuvers and wave riding, the new NP Mono Handle that functions like a boom but adds the drop grip feature, and a simplified airframe with a stiffer feel for smoother drifting and tricks that require backwind riding. 

This unique feature set also makes the Firefly arguably the best wing on the market for schools and beginners - riders can use a smaller size and still be confident in their take off, the Mono handle makes that first grab and maneuvers as easy as possible, and the shorter wing span makes it better suited for kids and smaller riders.

Drawing on the accumulated expertise of the NP design team, the all new Firefly is optimized for freestyle, surf and schools. The firefly is packed with innovations that that elevate your wing foiling experience, whether you are an experenced rider pushing into rotational moves / stepping up your game in surf, or a new rider fresh to wing foiling, looking for the earliest take-off and easiest handing.

EVOLUTION

 

Firefly is optimized for wave riding / freestyle and easy handling. It is also our easiest wing for beginners / intermediate wingers and smaller riders or kids.

 

SHAPE DIFFERENCES

The Firefly has a greatly reduced wingspan for far lighter handling. Wing tips will will be less likely to touch in the water on rotations or side to side maneuvers on the waves. This reduced wingspan is also ideal for people who are learning to wing as this is the number 1 cause of falling when learning.

 

Mono Handle

Our new mono handle feels like a boom in your hands but adds the drop grip feature at the front for easy gybing / downwind flying. You'll love the way you can control the power in the wing with 1 hand while concentrating on chasing waves with the rest of your body.

 

Integral Batten System

Sewn-in composite battens create a flat, fast trailing edge with minimum flutter.

 

Staggered material weights on LE

The use of an ultra-light, high-tenacity woven polyester at the wingtips and back of strut results in a very light ‘feel’ due to reduced swing weight.

 

MONO HANDLE DESIGN

The new NP Mono Handle functions like a boom but adds the drop grip feature or ease of handling, tricks and downwind flying.

We’ve chosen PVC for ultimate strength, maximum visibility and safety on the water. 

 

Tubular Bag

The new tubular bag means that – even with the longer mono handle – the FireFly can be packed into a compact space without having to install/remove the handle every time the wing is inflated. Sometimes simple solutions are the best!

Mit der Einführung des FireFly präsentiert Neilpryde ein komplett neues Design, optimiert für Freestyle und Surf. Der FireFly kombiniert das NP High Lift Concept (eingeführt mit der ersten Generation des Fly, um sowohl einen frühen Take Off als auch ein leichtes, reaktionsschnelles Handling zu ermöglichen) mit einer Reihe neuer Features, die in enger Zusammenarbeit mit unserem Freestyle- und Wave-Test Team entwickelt wurden.

 

FEATURES

  • Deutlich reduzierte Spannweite für Rotationsmanöver und in der Welle sowie erhöhte Spannung im Segeltuch – das macht den Wing sowohl leichter zu handhaben als auch reaktionsschneller, ohne Kompromisse bei der Leistung oder Kontrolle einzugehen.

  • Neue Carbon Mono Handle: Dieser leichte und langlebige Carbon-Griff bietet alle Vorteile einer Mono Handle und integriert Drop-Grip sowie die Ergonomie der bewährten Griffe des NP Fly.

  • Eine vereinfachte Rahmen-Struktur mit steiferem Profil   für sanfteres Driften und Tricks, die mit Backwind gefahren werden.

  • PVC Fenster für ultimative Stärke in Wellen und extremen Freestyle-Manövern

  • Neue röhrenförmige Tasche, sodass – auch mit der längeren Mono Handle – der FireFly kompakt verstaut werden kann, ohne den Griff jedes Mal installieren oder abbauen zu müssen.

Dieses einzigartige Feature-Set macht den FireFly auch für Schulen und Anfänger wohl zum besten Wing auf dem Markt – Fahrer können eine kleinere Größe verwenden und dennoch sicher abheben.
