UNLEASH THE FREERIDE FOILING EXPERIENCE
Starboard’s Foil Freerides continue to dominate the market as the ultimate choice for freeride foil boards. Setting new standards and consistently surpassing expectations, these boards offer unmatched versatility and exhilarating performance. With a perfect blend of balance and control, effortless take-offs and exhilarating flights are simply second nature. Elevate your freeride foiling to the next level.
THE FOIL FREERIDE IN DETAIL
To enhance performance, we have focused on reducing aerodynamic drag by implementing a lower rocker profile. Additionally, we have incorporated a massive vee design, which effectively minimizes the risk of catapults, allowing riders to push their limits with confidence. Improved take-offs are now achieved through the progressive tail kick, providing the necessary speed for a seamless transition onto the foil. This design element optimizes the board’s performance and enhances the overall foiling experience. Both sizes have been renamed to represent their respective widths: 75 and 85. These changes ensure a more precise selection process, catering to individual preferences and skill levels.
IMPROVED VOLUME DISTRIBUTION AND REDUCED SWING WEIGHT
Further enhancing manoeuvrability, the FOIL FREERIDE features shorter noses and mast tracks. These design elements promote easy take-offs, and also reduce swing weight, providing a lighter and more floating sensation. Improved volume distribution, thin profiles, and flat decks contribute to enhanced stability and control.
SEAMLESS AND CONFIDENT ACTION
Experience quick planing and early take-offs with the Foil Freeride. Effortless landings and relaunches are facilitated by increased nose rocker. The board’s hard rail edges ensure confident rebounding off the water during touchdowns.
FOIL-OPTIMIZED PADS
The Foil Freeride is equipped with thin pads specially designed for enhanced control and feedback during foiling. These pads are engineered to absorb fewer impacts, while the diamond grooves ensure perfect grip.
YULEX NEOPRENE
For a comfortable and reliable connection during long freeride adventures, the Drake foot straps are constructed using premium Yulex foam and the smoothest fabric available.
RECOMMENDED FOILS
Consider pairing the Foil Freeride with Starboard Evolution Foils such as the SuperFlyer, Freeride, Slalom, or Race models for optimal performance.
CONSTRUCTIONS
WOOD SANDWICH
LIGHTWEIGHT BOARDS DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP AS OUR LOWEST CARBON FOOTPRINT
Developed by Jean Louis Colmas in 1984, Wood Technology became Starboard’s trademark construction in 1995. Wood Technology remains a favourite for riders preferring more comfort, more control and the unique crisp feel of an original Starboard. It’s time to bring back this technology while reducing our CO2 footprint. Full wood sandwich lamination of 0.6mm Australian Pinewood, ensures durability and comfort in a good strength to weight ratio. Today’s wood is less visible in modern graphics; UV protected by fresh blue paint and stickers that compliment the natural grain with a really nice effect. A classy re-edition of a classic Starboard Original.
STARLITE CARBON TECHNOLOGY
VALUE AND QUALITY
A high-quality value package with an excellent finish. 0.6mm Australian pine wood sandwich wrapped with Military grade-glass and laminated with cutting-edge Bio Resin. The Starlite technology feels exceptionally crisp and provides extra high impact resistance.
The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.
For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.
The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.
More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave. - See more at: http://www.star-board-windsurfing.com/2015/products/boards/quad#overview
