XTRA
Our Proven Concept for Wingfoil Racing
10 x CLIMATE POSITIVE
Our design brief was super early foil action, create maximum control at high speed, keep balance in critical moments and minimize drag while in the air. We also wanted to minimize movement between foot and foil.
The smaller sizes are for windy days, light and advanced riders. The bigger sizes are simply the most performance oriented and controllable boards we offer in their volume category. For wing foil racing, we would recommend one size bigger than for freeride use.
XTRA EARLY TAKE OFF
XTRA CONTROL AT MAXIMUM SPEED
XTRA BALANCE IN CRITICAL MOMENTS
LOW NOSE ROCKER
Helps the board gain ground speed before taking off.
REDUCED DECK THICKNESS AT THE TAIL
Maximizes control over the foil. Volume is instead redistributed to the rails where they serve as stabilizers.
SHARP BOXY RAILS
Allow for extra early pop up and provides fast relaunching when landing.
LOW ROCKER
Helps the board fly through the air with minimum resistance and keeps speed to easily relaunch during touch downs.
SIDE BOTTOM CURVE
At the back of the board has an angle so one can pump the board for easy pop up.
FLAT CENTER TAIL ROCKER
Keeps the foil in the ideal angle at all times.
XTRA FOOTSTRAP POSITIONS
The 18cm distance between the inserts allows you to have a wider footstrap span for better trim and control while foiling since you can micro-adjust your position.
*Footstraps come with the board.
XTRA SOLID FOIL BOX REINFORCEMENT
To minimize movement around the box, creating an ultra-solid feel at high speed.
XTRA LONG FOIL TRACK
Facilitates any type of foil and set up.

BLUE CARBON
THE BEST VALUE FULL CARBON CONSTRUCTION WE HAVE EVER PRODUCED
• Top grade 150g Biaxial Carbon wraps the entire board, joining with an overlap on the deck and bottom to create flat stringer, increasing the total breakage strength.
• 2 skins of durable fibre glass form a sandwich around the biaxial Carbon, protecting the carbon by dampening and absorbing the impact.
• The combination of twin T-stringers deck and bottom work together to increase the overall total breakage strength.
• Multiple reinforcements in the standing area, nose and tail increase impact resistance.
5'11" x 28.5" / 87 ltr.
Length: 5’11" / 180 cm
Width: 28.5" / 72 cm
The 5’11” is our large Xtra built for light wind race days. The 87L volume offers super fast take off and great balance when starting. The Xtra is designed with a low rocker for maximum speed.
Available constructions:
Blue Carbon
5'10" x 25.5" / 77 ltr.
Length: 5’10” / 178 cm
Width: 25.5” / 65 cm
At 77L the 5’10” Xtra performs best on medium wind eace days. The sharp, boxy rails offer Xtra early take off. The 16? box allows riders to adjust their foil position to suit any foil.
Available constructions:
Blue Carbon
5'5" x 24" / 65 ltr.
Length: 5’5” / 165 cm
Width: 24” / 61 cm
The 5’5? is the race foil board designed for lighter riders in medium to high wind days. The super low rocker and sharp rails give this board super early take off and the reduced tail thickness maximises control when foiling.
Available constructions:
Blue Carbon
4'9" x 21.5" / 57 ltr.
Length: 4’9” / 145 cm
Width: 21.5” / 55.0 cm
Our narrowest model, the 4’9? is fast and easy to control when flying. This Xtra is our fastest model for racing and best suited for riders around 65kg. The 4’9? is designed for high wind racing and is our most competitive board in the range.

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.
For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.
The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.
More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave. - See more at: http://www.star-board-windsurfing.com/2015/products/boards/quad#overview
