- The Starboard Natural Winner Light Core Fin is superb racing fin; it offers great tracking and stability, whilst maintaining manoeuvrability when crossing surf and performing buoy turns. The Light Core composite construction keeps all the flex characteristics and strength of a fibreglass fin, but with a vastly reduced weight.
BIO Resin Light Core Natural Winner Fin
The Starboard Natural Winner Light Core Fin is the standard fin with Starboard Allstar range boards with widths 26 inches and below; its design features make it undoubtedly a SUP fin suited for competing. It has a nice, wide base and generally large surface area, providing excellent tracking ability when paddling forwards. The leading edge is quite swept back, assisting in beach starts and allowing easy shedding of snagging weeds. This also comes into play when you perform buoy turns as, when you step back on your board, the Starboard Natural Winner SUP Fin sits more vertically in the water, facilitating a more effective pivot.
Overall, the Starboard Natural Winner Light Core Fin is quite small compared to other race fins, allowing you to paddle with minimal drag; this is assisted by a small concave shape on the fin’s trailing edge, assisting the release of water. Drag is further minimised by the Starboard Natural Winner SUP Fin’s lightweight ‘Light Core’ composite construction. All Starboard’s Light Core fins use plant-based Bio resin which, in addition to maintaining high performance, has much less impact on the environment.
